Privacy Policy — Cellar

Last updated: 18 September 2026

Cellar is a personal drinks cellar app. It has no accounts, no sign-up and no analytics, and it does not sell or share your information with anyone.

What stays on your device

Everything about your cellar. Bottles, vintages, regions, ratings, tasting notes, quantities and any photographs you take are stored on your iPhone, in the app's own storage. They are not uploaded to us and we cannot see them. Deleting the app deletes this data permanently.

Label photographs

When you photograph a label, that photograph is sent to Cellar's own service and forwarded to Anthropic to be read. It is used only to return the producer, vintage and region for that bottle. It is not stored on our servers after the reading, is not linked to you, and is not used to identify you or to train anything.

If you never use label scanning, no data whatsoever leaves your device.

What we do not do

Camera and photo library

Cellar asks for camera access only to photograph a label, and photo library access only when you choose an existing photo. Both are used solely to attach an image to a bottle. Neither is accessed in the background.

Children

Cellar is rated 17+ and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above is updated.
